Heym and TickTick: similarities and differences
The daily list
This part works like TickTick, down to labels, priorities, repeating tasks and dates typed in plain words.
- InboxTasks you haven't given a date or a place yet.
- TodayWhat's due today, as a list or on a calendar.
- UpcomingEverything due in the days and weeks ahead.

Life planning
TickTick has habits and notes, but nothing above them. In Heym, life areas and goals sit on top, and every habit, note and task links to one.
- AreasSport & Health, Money & Finance and the other parts of your life, each on its own page.
- GoalsWhat you want to reach, with a deadline and a progress bar.
- HabitsLike TickTick's, but each one linked to the goal it serves.
- NotesLinked to the goal or area they're about, not filed in a list.

How Heym links life areas, goals, habits and tasks
It starts with a part of your life, a level above any list or folder. In Health, you write down the life you want.
That turns into a goal with a date and a progress bar. Tasks, habits and notes all link back to it.
TickTick keeps habits in their own tab. In Heym each habit sits under the goal it serves, so you know which race every run is for.
Now your tasks have a reason. A list says where a task lives. Heym also shows the goal behind it, so you know what comes first.

Checked against ticktick.com/about/upgrade, ticktick.com/features, TickTick's help center and its App Store listing on 5 November 2026. TickTick lists its prices in US dollars. A red cross in the TickTick column means we couldn't find it on TickTick's own pages, which doesn't prove it's missing. See something wrong? Email support@heym.app.

Frequently asked questions
Can Heym replace TickTick?
For one person planning their own work and life, mostly. Heym has an Inbox, Today and Upcoming, projects with sections, labels, priorities, repeating tasks, habits and a Pomodoro timer. It doesn't have subtasks yet, and it has no Eisenhower matrix. It runs in the browser and as a Mac app. An iPhone app is coming soon and an Android app is planned.
Is Heym more complicated than TickTick?
Not for the daily list. You add a task in one line, with a date in plain words, a label and a priority, and plan your day from Today as you would in TickTick. Goals, habits and life areas sit in one sidebar above your tasks, and you can hide the ones you don't use.
Do I have to set goals to use Heym?
No. You can use Heym as a plain task list. Skip the goals step when you sign up, make Inbox or Today your start page, and hide Goals, Habits and Areas in the sidebar until you want them. Every account still starts with a set of life areas.
Does TickTick have goals?
Not goals you plan toward. TickTick has lists, habits with a daily target, and countdowns to important dates. Nothing links a list or a habit to a bigger goal, and there are no life areas to group them by.
TickTick has a habit tracker. How is Heym's different?
Both let you tick a habit off or count it toward a daily target. TickTick keeps habits in their own tab, with 5 habits on the free plan. In Heym a habit can belong to a goal and a life area, so a morning run sits under “Run my first half-marathon” and shows up on that goal's page.
I keep my goals in Notion next to TickTick. Why switch?
If that setup works, keep it. Heym is for when you want both in one place: the goal with its deadline and progress, and the habits and tasks that serve it. You stop copying between two apps to see whether this week moved anything.
Does Heym sync with my calendar?
Not yet. Heym has its own calendar with 4-day, week and month views, and you can drag tasks onto it to block time. Your Google or Outlook events don't show up in it yet. TickTick connects to Google Calendar and can subscribe to other calendars on Premium.
Is Heym free?
Yes, with limits. The free plan has unlimited tasks and a few goals, projects and habits. Pro removes those limits for €30 a year or €5 a month. See the pricing page.
Can I import my tasks from TickTick?
Yes. In TickTick on the web or desktop, open Settings, Account and click Generate Backup. Then open Settings, Import, TickTick in Heym and choose that file. Lists become projects and kanban columns become sections. Dates, repeating dates, priorities, tags, reminders, checklists and completed tasks come along. Subtasks arrive as separate tasks that name their parent, and lists inside folders arrive as separate projects. You see a preview first. Notes, won't-do tasks, habits and focus records stay in TickTick. The free plan holds a few projects, so send the rest to your Inbox or upgrade to Pro.
