Frequently asked questions
What is a goal planner?
A goal planner stores each goal with a target, an optional deadline, and a record of progress. In Heym, every goal also connects to the tasks that move it, the habits that build it, and the life area it belongs to, so you can see how far along you are and why the goal matters.
How do I measure progress on a goal?
Heym measures a goal one of three ways: by a number with a target and unit, like 300 km or 24 books; by the share of its linked tasks completed; or by the average of its subgoals. Progress shows as a bar in the goal list and as a chart on the goal's page that updates every time you log a check-in.
Can I break a big goal into smaller steps?
Yes. Any goal can hold subgoals, and each subgoal can be measured its own way. A long-term ambition becomes a handful of concrete steps you can act on this week, and the parent goal's progress reflects them automatically.
Can I track goals like running, reading, or saving money?
Yes. For a numeric goal you set a start value, a target, and a unit, whether that's kilometers, pages, or euros, then log check-ins over time. The chart shows your trend toward the target, and your next check-in always continues from where you left off, even after a break.
Does Heym work for OKRs or SMART goals?
Heym isn't tied to one methodology, but it fits both. You can write a measurable objective with subgoals as its key results for an OKR-style setup, or give a goal a specific target and deadline to keep it SMART. Either way the principle holds: a goal you can actually measure, not just a wish.
Is the goal planner free?
Yes. Goal planning is on Heym's free plan, no credit card required. The free plan has limits on how much you can create; for unlimited goals, upgrade to Pro (€5 per month, or €2.50 per month billed yearly, with a 7-day trial), or get the one-time Lifetime plan (€119). Full details are on the pricing page.
