Some work is bigger than a task and smaller than a goal. A website redesign or a house move has a deadline, a dozen moving parts and an order to them. That work had to sit as a goal with a flat list of tasks beneath it, or as a single task whose description slowly absorbed everything it depended on.

Projects are a layer between goals and tasks. A project holds its own tasks, carries a start date and a deadline, tracks progress as those tasks are completed, and aligns to one life area or goal. Projects sit under My Life in the sidebar, where they can be reordered, favourited and marked complete.

Each project's Tasks tab has a list layout and a board layout, and keeps whichever was used last. Tasks can be divided into named sections that act as list groups or as board columns. Dragging a card onto the Completed column checks the task off, and columns can be renamed, reordered and collapsed to a narrow strip.

The Overview tab holds a document for the project's context, in the same editor as notes, and a list of milestones: named checkpoints with an optional target date, kept separate from the task list.

An existing task can be moved into a project from its alignment picker, and a goal's detail page lists every project aligned to it. Unlimited projects are available on the paid plans.
