Selecting several items

Selecting several items and acting on all of them at once worked in task lists only. Every other list meant going through items one at a time.

The same selection now works in Projects, Goals, Habits, Notes, Life areas and Trash, with the keys task lists already use. X adds the focused item or takes it back out, ⇧ ↓ and ⇧ ↑ extend the selection, ⌘ A (Ctrl A on Windows and Linux) selects everything visible and Esc clears it. A bar at the bottom of the page counts what is selected, and its Actions button opens the command menu on the selection, as ⌘ K does.

Projects and goals can be marked completed or deleted together. Deleting a project moves its tasks to Trash, and deleting a goal deletes its subgoals and unassigns its tasks. If any selected goal still has open subgoals, completing asks once for the whole selection: Complete all, or Just these goals. Habits can be deleted together, completion history included. Life areas can too, and their goals, habits and tasks stay, without a life area. Deleted notes go to Trash, and one Undo brings back all of them. In Trash, the Tasks and Notes tabs restore a selection or delete it forever.

Deleting projects, goals, habits or life areas, or deleting forever in Trash, asks for confirmation first. Items an action can't apply to, such as those shared with you as Can view, can still be selected; the action skips them and says so: Deleted 3 of 5. On a life area's or a goal's page, click into its goals to select them.

Press X on an item in any of these lists to start a selection. ? lists every selection key under Lists.
